I lost my sweet angel, Zoey on May 13, 2023. She was born on August 13, 2008. I remember getting her as puppy. She was going to be sent to the pound the following day. I was only a freshman in high school. I remember staying up until midnight, waiting for her and her brother. When she finally arrived, the first thing she did was climb into the food bowl. Her little belly got so round, and she stayed round from that moment on.
She loved to chase. Once, she chased a squirrel up a tree, and then spent a good ten minutes trying to figure out how to climb up after it. She was a very energetic puppy, but that never stopped her from wanting to watch a good movie snuggled up with Mom.
When life got bad and we lost our house, she wasn’t allowed to go with me. I remember holding her and sleeping on the porch with my baby until they changed their minds. She was my rock. She saved my life more than once, and I’ll never forget it.
I know she’s causing trouble at the rainbow bridge with her brother, waiting for me. Until we meet again, baby girl. Take care of your brother for me. I miss you so much already.
Love, Mom
