Verne Ricker Obituary Verne Harold Ricker, age 85, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Helia Healthcare of Energy in Energy, Illinois.

Verne was born July 19, 1939 in Lisbon, Maine, a son of Howard and Alice (McIntosh) Ricker.

Verne grew up in Lisbon, Maine and graduated High School in 1957. He attended trade school and worked with his father on his milk route. He later started his own Vending Business and ran it for over 25 years. He married the love of his life, Sally Roberson in Lake Tahoe, NV in 1988. Together they moved to Marion, Illinois in 1989 and Verne worked part-time at Pepsi. Verne loved to travel and was very active with the Fellowship Masonic Lodge #89 in Marion, and the Williamson County Shrine Club as a 50 year member. He was also a member of 1st Baptist Church in Herrin.

He is survived by his wife Sally Ricker of Marion, IL; one son, Tory V. (Shana) Ricker of Punta Gorda, FL; three grandchildren, Ashley (Dan) Allen, Alex Lacognata, and Elizabeth Lacognata; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Allen; and one brother, Merton Ricker of Lizborn, ME. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Victoria Lacognata; his parents, Howard and Alice Ricker; and one brother, Wayne Ricker.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 25th, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024, 12:00 PM at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Goldman officiating. Masonic services will held Thursday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at a later date in the state of Maine, next to his daughter.
