Stanley Ezell Obituary Stanley Lee Ezell, a devoted outdoorsman, passed away unexpectedly while doing what he loved. He was 69 years old.
Stan was born Tuesday, July 19, 1955 in Herrin, a son of Walter Jason and Madeline (Cheatham) Ezell.
Stan was a passionate outdoorsman who lived life to the fullest, surrounded by nature's beauty. With a green thumb, he cultivated stunning gardens and cherished time spent outdoors. He spent countless hours hunting deer, squirrel, and rabbit, as well as fishing in the waters he cherished. In his younger years, Stan explored the Mississippi River, camping under the stars and embracing the freedom of the great outdoors. His love for nature was contagious, inspiring friends and family to appreciate the beauty of the world around them. Family and friends will deeply miss his stories, guidance, and infectious enthusiasm.
He is survived by his son- Stanley Jason Ezell of De Soto; brother- Johnny (Sharon) Ezell of Herrin; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends whom he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother- Freddy Roy Ezell.
A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, located at 201 S. 13th Street in Herrin.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Keith Owens officiating.
To honor Stan's love of nature, the family requests memorials be made in the form of planting a tree in his memory.
