Ruth Godin Obituary

Ruth Ann Godin, age 85, of Herrin, passed away at home at 8:50pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 with her loving daughters at her side.

She was born Sunday, February 23, 1941 in Harco, a daughter of Charles and Bonnie (Parks) Higgins. She married the love of her life, Arnie Godin. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters- Diana Osteen and Angela Gudermuth; son- Rob Riddle, Jr.; first husband and father of her children- Robert Riddle; twelve grandchildren- Andrew, Kristin, Austin, Dawson, Britin, Davey, Ryan, Mike, Miranda, Haille, Gabby, and Felicia; twenty great-grandchildren- Faith, Haven, Madison, Cameron, Carson, Madelyn, Vensin, Christian, Sylas, Landry, Lilly, Luca, Aaron, Avia, Hunter, Jace, Rhone, Destinee Dayson, and Destyn; two great great grandchildren- Ellie and Grayson; sister- Connie Kinser; brother- Kenny Bond; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband- Arnie Godin; daughters- Debra Rippy, Tammy Riddle, and Roberta Riddle-Graham; grandchildren- Nikki, Joey, and Brad, and her beloved Grandma Higgins.

Ruth had been employed as a caterer and Country Kitchen cook. She was loved by many more than those listed. She touched many lives with her love, strength, and kindness. Her extraordinary love for the Lord was inspirational.

No public services will be held at this time. The family encourages you to remember Ruth in your own special way, sharing stories and memories of her life and legacy.
