Rose Mary Alvarez, age 71, of Pinckneyville, passed away peacefully at 12:45 AM on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Thursday, September 17, 1953 in Pinckneyville, a daughter of Herman George and Mabel Ruth (Heberer) Hubler. She married the love of her life, Robert Anthony Alvarez. Together, they have shared many years of marriage and created countless memories.
Rose Mary was a strong-willed and vibrant individual. She had a soft spot for dogs and enjoyed spending time doing what she loved, working as a pet groomer. She was an avid Scrabble player and Solitaire enthusiast. Her hands were always busy, whether baking, working on projects around the house or building a stunning rock wall that stood as a testament to her determination. With a quirky sense of humor and unwavering confidence, Rose Mary inspired those around her. She taught her children the value of resilience, hard work, and individuality, leaving a lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones, who cherish memories of her strength, creativity, and love. Her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband- Robert Anthony Alvarez of Pinckneyville; son- Robert Anthony (Renee Dawn) Alvarez of Pinckneyville; two grandchildren- Esequiel Anthony James Alvarez and Bonnie Kay Rose Alvarez of Pinckneyville; sister- Ruth Ann (Paul Donald) Opp of Pinckneyville; and several nieces and nephews.
Rose Mary is preceded in death by her parents and a brother-Richard George Hubler.
