Patricia "Pat" Fay (O'Gara) Taylor, age 84, of Cutler, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at her daughter's home in Pinckneyville, surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born in East Saint Louis, Illinois on December 11, 1940, the daughter of Patrick Joseph and Minnie Mae (Armstrong) O'Gara. She married the love of her life, William "Earl" Taylor, on December 3, 1956 in Chester. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2018. Together, they shared more than sixty-one years of marriage and precious memories.
Pat departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. As a devoted member of the First Pentecostal Church in Pinckneyville, Pat's faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her actions and her loving spirit. At the heart of Pat's life was her family. She was a dedicated nurturer, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, from caring for her grandchildren to spoiling her grandcat, who she even taught to play dice and eat from the table. Pat's playful side shone through in her love for games like Yahtzee and Skip-Bo. Her family fondly remembers the joy she brought to game nights, and her grandchild's first words were even inspired by her favorite game, Yahtzee. Her family was her rock, and she was theirs. Pat's humor was contagious, and everyone looked forward to her jokes. Her quick wit and sassy attitude made her a beloved figure in everyone's life. In addition to her family, Pat loved her dogs and enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her garden, and canning. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and devotion to her family and faith. Pat will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
