Patricia Ann Emery

Patricia Ann Emery, age 57, of Herrin, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.

She was born Saturday, July 13, 1968 in Herrin, a daughter of Mary (Legan) and Bill "Red" Starnes. She married the love of her life, John Delmar Emery in Herrin on December 13, 2008. He survives in Herrin.

Pat leaves behind cherished memories with her loving family. She found immense joy in caring for her family, especially her two granddaughters, whom she adored.
Patricia's personality and love for conversation (a trait she inherited from her mother) made her a magnet for friends and family. Her sociable nature and infectious laughter will be deeply missed.
In her quieter moments, Patricia enjoyed fishing, finding solace in the peacefulness of the water and the outdoors. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her love, kindness, and warmth.

She is survived by her husband- John Delmar Emery of Herrin; two sons- James Daniel Emery of Herrin and John Delmar (Ashly) Emery Jr. of Carmel, Indiana; two grandchildren- Meredith Jenae Emery and Dani Jo Emery; sister- Linda (Don) Gass of West Frankfort; sister- Donna Cole of Herrin; brother- Mike (Sheryl) Starnes of Herrin; and sister-in-law- Nancy Starnes of Murray, Kentucky.

She is preceded in death by parents, grandparents- George and Myrtle (Blue) Legan and Ferrel and Ruth Starnes, and her brother- Jerry Starnes.

A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 AM ~ 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.

Funeral services to celebrate Pat's life will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Todd Hawk officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.
