Nancy Williamson Obituary

Nancy A. Williamson, age 88, of Du Quoin, formerly of Pinckneyville, passed away at 5:30 PM on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Nancy was born Monday, May 3, 1937 in Pinckneyville, Illinois, a daughter of Willard and Audrey (Anderson) Milligan. She married the love of her life, Murrel G. Williamson, in Corinth, Mississippi on June 02, 1956. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1987. Together, they shared thirty-one years of marriage and precious memories.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. A member of the United Presbyterian Church in Pinckneyville, Nancy's careers were marked by her dedication to serving others, first at Decca Records and later as a beloved cook for Fair Acres Nursing Home and the Steeleville Senior Center. But it was her family that truly brought Nancy joy. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and her love for her family knew no bounds. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she took immense pride in every accomplishment and milestone. Her family was her everything, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law- Brenda and Brian Ridgeway of Pinckneyville; two grandchildren- Matt (Julie) Sizemore and Chad Sizemore; and three great grandchildren- Matilyn, Laryn, and Jaxon Sizemore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband- Murrel G. Williamson, two brothers- Gerald and Robert Milligan, and sister- Irene Markotay.
