Marion Kenneth Kesler, age 89, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois.
Marion was born March 29, 1934 in Perks, Illinois, a son of Charles and Frieda (Taylor) Kesler. At 9 months of age, Kenny's mother died and he was raised by his Aunt Maude Kerley in Carterville. He attended school in Carterville and moved to Arkansas working in the Logging Industry and driving a truck. He moved back to Illinois and worked for the Operating Engineers Local 318 for fifty years, until his retirement at age 64. He married Barbara Love on November 03, 1978. Kenny had a love for horses.
He is survived by his children, Brenda (Brian) Julian of West Frankfort, IL, Steve (Cynthia) Kesler of Herrin, IL, Allan (Storme) Kesler of Marion, IL, Carol Kesler of Zeigler, IL, Gary Kesler of Herrin, IL, and stepson Tom Wallace of Cambria, IL; his many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Kesler; four children, Deborah Aaron, Julia Vaughn, Becky Gibbs, and stepson Timothy Wallace; granddaughter, Terri Ann Seibeck; grandson, Steven Kenneth Kesler Jr.; his parents, Charles L. and Frieda Kesler; and two siblings, Charles Kesler and Betty Graham.
Memorial services will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Apostolic Church in Cambria, Illinois. The burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Dongola, IL. at a later date.
