Lovice Marie Skinner, age 62, of Herrin, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, September 12, 2025.
She married Robert Brian Skinner in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 10, 1995. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2001. She had worked as a chef at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
She was the heart of her family, a loving daughter, mother, and grandmother who lived life on her own terms. With a passion for the great outdoors, she enjoyed camping and Jeep runs, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren. She was a talented cook who loved sharing meals with those she loved.
This no-nonsense, straight-shooting woman was fiercely loyal and protective of her family. She was a fighter for what she believed in and never backed down when it mattered most. Her strong opinions and convictions guided her, but it was her generous spirit that truly defined her - she always put others before herself and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.
Her loved ones will remember her authenticity, her caring nature, and her unwavering dedication to those around her. Though she may be gone, her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
Survivors include three sons- Daniel (Kenlyn) White of Clarksville, Tennessee; son- Brian Travis (Amber) Skinner of Mulkeytown; son- Justin Hollowell of Paris, Tennessee; seven grandchildren- Mason White, Bentley Turowski, Easton Skinner, Braedyn Braun, Cooper Clements, Lacy Hollowell, and Brian Hollowell; and her beloved mother- Michelle Eaton of Herrin.
She is preceded in death by her father- Billy White, husband- Robert Brian Skinner, son- Christopher White, and brother- Paul Porter.
