Lanny Robert Rednour, age 82, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois.

Lanny was born November 19, 1940 in Percy, Illinois, a son of John and Iona Marie (Mathis) Rednour. He married the love of his life, Glendia Carolene Wheatley May 13, 1961 in Carbondale, Illinois. Lanny had worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago, ICG and the coal mines before later retiring as a prison guard at the Menard Penitentiary.

He is survived by his spouse Glendia Carolene (Wheatley) Rednour of Herrin, IL; four children, Lanna Rednour of Herrin, IL, Carolena (John) Leeper, Jeff (Kim) Rednour, and Steven (Kathy) Rednour; his grandchildren- Benjamin, Chandra, Cory, Max, Joshua, Caleb, Stephanie, Jonathan, and Paul; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one brother, Tim (Sherry) Rednour.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Iona Marie (Mathis) and John Alvin Rednour; granddaughter- Jennifer, and two brothers, Leonard Nelson Rednour and Samuel Henry Rednour.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, January 1st, 2023 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
