Kathy Ann Dodds-Simpson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy Ann Dodds-Simpson, who passed away at 11:11am on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.Kathy was a devoted mother, loving sister, and cherished friend.  Her passing will leave an immense void i the lives of all who knew and loved her. 

Kathy was born in Carbondale on June 3, 1957, the daughter of Robert Joseph Dodds and Jewell (Bradley) Alsop. She had dedicated herself to serving her community at the Kroger Company for more than 20 years and Aldi stores for many years also.  Her warm smile, kind heart, and generous spirit made her a beloved fixture in the lives of countless customers and colleagues. 

She is survived by her loving family including her son- Jason Simpson; daughter- Raechel ( Luke) Simpson; older brother- James Hasse of California; older brother- Gary Hewerdine of Sparta; older sister- Tanya Paul of Ava; older brother- Randall J. Dodds Sr. of Pinckneyville; younger Sister- Pamela Dodds of Carbondale; and her younger sister- Holly Teller of Marion.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.

As per Kathy's wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
