Julie Gallo Obituary

Julie Ann Gallo, age 52, of Carbondale, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital, after a brave battle with cancer.

Julie was born Tuesday, February 29, 1972, in Peoria, Illinois, a daughter of John Ed and Pat (Collins) Garrett. She married the love of her life, Bennardo "Ben" Gallo in Benton, IL on August 20, 2013. He survives in Carbondale.

Julie was a dedicated certified nurse's assistant, touching countless lives through her exceptional care and kindness. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues and the patients whose lives were enriched by her devotion.

She is survived by her husband- Bennardo "Ben" Gallo of Carbondale; mother- Pat (Collins) Garrett of Pinckneyville; daughter- Candice Montano of Tulare, CA; daughter- Breanna Montano of Tulare, CA; son- Chon Montano of Perryville, MO; son- Jacob Montano of Pinckneyville; son- Jordan (Makenzie Young) Brand of Pinckneyville; son- Chandler Gallo of Carbondale; son- Chase Gallo of Shiloh; son- Caden Gallo of Carbondale; daughter- Jessica Mardirosian of Carterville; daughter- Jennifer Gallo of Shiloh; daughter- Kristina Zimmerman of Nashville; grandchildren- Elijah Garrett, Nolan Montano, Axel Brand, Noah Montano, Everhett Brand, Sterling Brand, Jullian Mardirosian, Jacee Mardirosian, Veronica Mardirosian, Denny Mardirosian, Elijah Zimmerman, and Elianah Zimmerman; sister- Lora (Duke) Brand of Pinckneyville; brother- Kevin (Kyle) Garrett of Troy; and father-in-law- Tony Gallo of Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her father, son- Tyler Garrett, grandmother- Jenny Jordan, mother-in-law- Brenda Gallo, and brother-in-law- Mark Gallo.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Mathis officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home, located at 11 South Hickory Street in Du Quoin.
