Johnpaul Golla

Johnpaul Golla, age 50, of Herrin, formerly of Olney, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025 at his home in Herrin.

He was born Thursday, October 31, 1974 in Olney, Illinois, a son of the late Severen and Joyce Evelyn (Inboden) Golla. He married the love of his life, Selena Diaz, in Murphysboro on October 26, 2024. She survives in Herrin.

Johnpaul, a devoted father and loving family man, passed away, leaving behind cherished memories with those who knew him. As a former mechanic, he traded in his toolbox and became a dedicated stay-at-home dad, pouring his heart into raising his family.

Johnpaul's passions went beyond work and family. He loved hitting the open road on his motorcycle and sharing laughter with his loved ones during family karaoke nights.

His infectious energy made him the life of every party, and his willingness to lend a helping hand earned him countless friends. Johnpaul's kind heart, generosity, and love for life touched everyone he met.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who remember him for his love, laughter, and adventures together.

He is survived by his wife- Selena Diaz of Herrin; eight children- Crystal Golla, Johnpaul Golla, Jr., Tristan Brown, Anastasia Diaz, Gavin Diaz-Golla, Everleigh Diaz, Jesse Diaz-Golla, Miguel Diaz; two grandchildren- James and Marriah; brother- Billy Golla; sister- Shirley Huff; mother-in-law- Tiny Diaz; father-in-law- Artemio Diaz; and three sister-in-laws- Leaanna Diaz, Cora Pastor, and Ana Diaz.

He is preceded in death by parents and his sister- Mona Golla.

A time of visitation will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm on his birthday of Friday, October 31, 2025 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Keith Owens officiating. 

The family requests memorial donations be made to Johnpaul's funeral care fund at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, to help the family with his unexpected final expenses.
