James Roby Obituary James "Jim" Richard Roby, age 64 of Royalton, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Herrin Hospital.

He was born Thursday, December 24, 1959 in Millington, Tennessee, a son of Barbara Joann (Marvin) Trim.

Prior to moving to Illinois, Jim lived in Missouri where he dedicated his career to protecting and serving his community. He bravely served as both a police officer and firefighter, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the communities he served.

Beyond his public service, Jim was a gifted artist with a passion for drawing and painting. His artwork reflected his creativity, patience, and attention to detail.

Jim's greatest strength, however, was his deep and abiding faith in the Lord. As a devoted Christian, he lived his life guided by his values and principles, inspiring those around him with his kindness, compassion, and generosity.

Jim will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His legacy of service, artistry, and faith will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him.

He is survived by his fiance- Desiree Bryant of Royalton; son- James (Kathleen) McKinney of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Rebecca Lewis of Washington State; six grandchildren; sister- Kathleen Grice of Oakland, Tennessee; brother- Robert (Lynda) Roby of Spokane, Washington; brother- Michael (Angie) Trim of Fort Scott, Kansas; brother- Nicholas (Melissa) Trim of Fort Scott, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother.

At Jim's request, no services will be held at this time. His family will cherish his memory privately.
