Harriette Anne Hammonds, 83 years old, went home to the Lord on June 19th, 2026.
Harriette was born at Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 17th, 1942 to Harry Dale Angel Jr. and Edna Eleanor Patterson Angel. She was the first of six children.
Harriette attended Broad Ripple and Arsenal Technical high schools in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating in 1960.
In 1959 she met the love of her life, Oral Ray Hammonds, at the church that they both attended. They were married at the church on August 21, 1960, and were married for 58 years. They had one daughter, Wendy Rae Hammonds Mitchell in 1962. During their entire marriage they faithfully served and loved the Lord.
Although Harriette was a homemaker most of her marriage, she was a very talented seamstress and worked in several retail stores doing alterations on men's clothing, which she loved. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, and quilting, and was an excellent cook. One of her greatest joys was making quilts and giving them as gifts. From the time she learned to read, she was an avid bookworm. Her mother had instilled that in her from the time she learned to read.
Harriette is survived by her daughter, Wendy, stepdaughter Kathy Isley (Randy), brother Harry "Butch" Angel (Linda), sister, Janice Isbell, grandchildren, Tiffany Madden & Elizabeth Hammonds, and her long time devoted friend, Sandy Frasier.
Harriette is preceded in death by her husband, Oral Ray, sisters, Shirley Richard, Barbara Walker, Carolyn Shurtz, grandson Chase Mitchell, step children, April Provençal and Alan Ray Hammonds.
