Harold L. Meneese, age 72, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois.
Harold was born November 04, 1950 in Herrin, Illinois, a son of Lloyd and Mildred (Claunch) Meneese. Harold grew up in Herrin, IL and attended Herrin Schools. At age 15 he started working at an Aluminum Factory in Murphysboro. He married Barbara K. Phillips on November 22, 1972 in Herrin, IL. He then worked at Tuck Tape in Carbondale, IL and then at Coal Age in West Frankfort for over 20 years repairing coal equipment. His last employment was for Dry Systems Technology in Vienna, IL for 10 years when he retired. Harold was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Barbara K. Meneese of Herrin, IL; three children, Jason L. Meneese of Pulleys Mill, IL, Samantha K. (Chad) Craig of Herrin, IL and Randy L. Meneese of Johnston City, IL; four grandchildren, Connor Craig, LilyAnn Craig, Jacob Meneese, Natalie Meneese, , and Baby Meneese Due in July; and one sister, Loretta (Carl) Kilmen of Carbondale, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mildred Meneese and one grandchild Angela Meneese.
