Claude Gerald Loucks, age 65, of Percy, passed away at his home in Percy, surrounded by his family, on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 8:52 am, following a hard-fought battle with acute kidney disease.
Gerald was born in Pinckneyville on January 16, 1958, the son of Joseph Marshall and Dorothy Mae (Shaw) Loucks. He married Sandra "Sandy" Shay in Cutler on April 26, 2003, soon to celebrate 20 years of marriage. She survives.
Gerald was a member of the First Tri-County Pentecostal Church of Cutler. There are many words that could describe Gerald: fisherman, outdoorsman, down-to-earth, humanitarian, and dog lover to name a few. Mostly, he was a husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be sadly missed by the many that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife- Sandy Loucks of Percy; brothers- William "Bill" (Danita) Loucks of Chester, James "Jim" Loucks of Chester, and Lyle Dean Nevell of Coulterville; and his father-in-law- Dennis Shay.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers- Joseph Samuel Loucks, Harry Earle Nevell, Donald Loucks and Clarence Loucks; sister- Brenda Ellen (Nevell) Rice; and mother-in-law- Joan Shay.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of remembrance and celebration of Claude Gerald Louck's life. The visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home; 11 South Hickory Street; Du Quoin, IL 62832.
