Douglas Laird Obituary Douglas Winfield Laird, age 77, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at his home in Herrin, Illinois.

Douglas was born June 18, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Donald and Dorothy (Kocenijer) Laird. Doug was surrounded by love from his family and friends at Our Directions of Herrin.

Doug loved relaxing in his recliner, watching western movies and spending time with his Our Directions family. He enjoyed going on scenic drives, movie dates with his best friend "Sally" and being outside during warm weather. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and participated in Special Olympics for several years. He had a fondness for fresh fruit, vegetables, salad with ranch dressing and coffee.

Our Directions would like to send a heartfelt "Thank You" to Residential Hospice for all of their love, care and support for Doug and his family during this time.

Visitation will be Monday, April 24th, 2023 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 24, 2023, 2:00 PM at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Herrin City cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Our Directions Home of Herrin.
