Douglas Gary Kennedy, age 65, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 6:00pm on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
He was born Saturday, September 26, 1959 in Bloomington, Illinois, a son of Gary and Therese (Fenton) Kennedy. He married the love of his life, Gina Jo (Smith) Driskell. Prior to his retirement, Douglas had worked as a machinist.
He is survived by his wife- Gina Jo Driskell of Pinckneyville; two sisters- Colleen Tucker of LeRoy and Julie Kennedy of LeRoy; brother- John (Laura) Kennedy of Buckeye, Arizona; thirteen nieces and nephews; five great nieces and great nephews; two sister-in-laws- Jennifer (Terry) McCrary of Chester and Jackie (Toby) Alvis of Du Quoin; two brother-in-laws- Brian Smith of Columbia and Mark (Susan) Romine of Bloomington; mother-in-law- Joan B. Smith of Pinckneyville; two step-sons- Steven (Trang) Hartlieb of Bellingham, Washington and Jamie (Morgan Galbraith) Driskell of Pinckneyville; and four step-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister and brother-in-law- Diane and Robert Horner.
In accordance with Douglas' wishes, no public services will be held.
