Donny Ray Hodge, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on June 10, 2025, at his home in Salem, at the age of 61.
He was born Thursday, February 13, 1964 in Centralia, a son of Charles Everett and Anna Mae (Moore) Hodge.
Donny lived a life that touched countless hearts. As a devoted healthcare professional, Donny worked tirelessly in home health, forming deep connections with patients and families. His compassion, empathy, and humor made him a beloved figure in the lives of those he cared for.
A special friendship with May Frye from Salem had a profound impact on Donny's life, helping shape his love and kindness. May became a guiding light for Donny, and their bond will always be remembered.
Donny's life was filled with joy and laughter. He cherished traveling, camping, and socializing with friends. His strong faith was a cornerstone of his being, and he lived out loud, unapologetically himself, inspiring others to do the same. Smart, funny, witty, caring, and loving - Donny embodied these qualities, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him. His legacy serves as a reminder of the impact one person can have on the world.
He is survived by his life partner- Jeremy Glen Talbert of Salem; cherished friends- Amy Sue Mullen of Jones, Oklahoma and Marta Coston of Washington State; and a host of other family members, loved ones, and friends.
He is preceded in death by parents and his brothers.
As per Donny's wishes, there will be no public services held at this time. Family and friends are encouraged to remember Donny in your own way, reflecting on the moments shared and the impact he had on your life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a local food pantry of the donor's choice, reflecting Donny's commitment to caring for others.
