Charles Ernest "Charlie" Mifflin Obituary

Charles Ernest "Charlie" Mifflin, age 70, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:30 am on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

Charles was born Wednesday, November 3, 1954 in Du Quoin, a son of Bob and Shirley (Pritchett) Mifflin. He married the love of his life, Debora Lee (Schwarz) in August of 1989 at the Pinckneyville Lutheran Church.

Charlie was a skilled laborer in mine construction and a talented auto mechanic at various local shops. His hands-on skills and attention to detail served him well in both pursuits. In his free time, Charlie was an avid car racing enthusiast. He liked exploring trails on his four-wheelers and took great pride in his four-wheel drive trucks. He enjoyed his camping trips and cherished the memories made around the campfire with family and friends. Charlie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife- Debbie Mifflin of Du Quoin; brother and sister-in-law- Robert and Linda Mifflin of Du Quoin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law- Jim and Sheri Schwarz of Lake of Egypt; beloved  niece- Sarah Dean and family of Carterville; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog- Mercedes.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister- Barbie Eisenhauer.

Respecting Charlie's and the family's wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
