Catherine Pinkston Obituary Catherine Elaine "Cat" Pinkston, age 54, of Herrin, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at Herrinm Hospital.
She was born Saturday, April 24, 1971 in Burlington, North Carolina, a daughter of Calvin Lewis and Linda Combs. She married the love of her life, Tina Marie Pinkston on Herrin, IL in January 22, 2021.
Cat, vibrant and loving, left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her. Her infectious laughter, quick wit, and generous spirit endeared her to family and friends alike. Music and singing brought her immense joy, and she loved nothing more than belting out her favorite tunes. Her furry companions, her dogs, were her constant friends and confidants. But her greatest treasures were her grandchildren, whom she adored and spoiled with love. Family gatherings were always a highlight, filled with laughter, good food, and warm memories. Movie nights were another favorite pastime, with Madea movies holding a special place in her heart. Her green thumb and love for gardening led her to create their first flower garden, a testament to her nurturing spirit. While she had a sharp wit and a temper to match, her loving nature and humor always shone through. She was a force to be reckoned with, especially when it came to working on cars. Not only did she enjoy tinkering with engines, but she also had a need for speed, participating in racing events that showcased her fearless spirit. Cat may be gone, but her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched. Her family and friends will cherish the memories of her laughter, her love, and her unwavering dedication to those she cared about.
She is survived by her loving wife- Tina Marie Pinkston of Herrin; son- Ian (Mikayla) Stephens of Herrin; four grandchildren- Shaylynn, Neveah, Nathan, and Sofia; dear friend- Nikki of North Carolina; niece- Linda Johnson of North Carolina; niece- Robin (Lonnie) Beltz of Herrin; brother-in-law- Mike Williams of Herrin; several nieces and nephews; and two beloved dogs- Angel and Dakota.
