Carol McMillan Obituary Carol Ann McMillan, age 73, of Carterville, passed away peacefully at 2:10 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Thursday, May 10, 1951 in Herrin, a daughter of Lester Eugene and Ruby (Hudgens) Woolsey. She married the love of her life, Allen McMillan in 1990 in Las Vegas.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and friend whose career spanned many years and roles. She began her professional journey as a secretary at Norge and Maytag, where she demonstrated exceptional dedication, work ethic, and leadership skills. Over time, Carol advanced to director of quality control, earning respect and admiration from her colleagues. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Carol's true passions lay in her personal life. She was an exceptional cook who took immense joy in feeding her loved ones and bringing people together. Her warmth and hospitality will be deeply missed. Carol was also an avid reader. She cherished her time with her husband, often playfully pestering him, and the two shared a deep and abiding love. Their country home was a sanctuary for Carol, where she reveled in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished the peace and tranquility it brought her, and it was a place where she felt most at home.

She is survived by her husband- Allen McMillan of Carterville; son- James Randall (Sherri) Fisher of Wendell, North Carolina; two step-children- Kelli Bryant of Florida and Joe (Jennifer) McMillan of Herrin; two grandchildren- Kristin Walker and Alec Bryant; two great grandchildren- Luna Taylor and Bridgette Walker; brother- Dennis (Joey) Woolsey of Springfield; sister- Barbara (John) Lenzini of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law- Linda Colombo of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother- Jim Woolsey.

The family will hold private services at a later date to celebrate Carol's life and legacy. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
