Brenda Sue Price

Brenda Sue Price, age 75, of Herrin, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Tuesday, October 17, 1950 in Herrin, a daughter of Delmar and Doris (Whitecotton) Price. She married the love of her life, Thomas L. Price, on February 7, 1980. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2020.

Brenda leaves behind a legacy of laughter and cherished memories. Prior to her retirement, Brenda worked as a dedicated CNA, caring for others with kindness and compassion. Brenda's family was her joy, and she delighted in teasing and aggravating them in the best possible way. She enjoyed her classic television shows, and her love for older shows brought laughter and nostalgia to her days. With a personality that was equal parts crazy and lovable, Brenda lived life on her own terms and touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her brother- Marty Price of Herrin; sister- Rhonda Fitzpatrick of Herrin; brother-in-law- Rev. Don Colson of Herrin; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews that she adored, including special nieces, Candi Payne, Becky Needham, and Mary Rutherford.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband- Thomas L. Price, sister- Judy Colson, and two nephews- David Baker and Jeffrey Price.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Hurricane Cemetery in Carterville with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Brenda's funeral care fund at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home to help the family with Brenda's final expenses.
