Barbara Dillon Obituary Barbara Gay Dillon passed away peacefully and without a worry in the world on February 3, 2025 at the age of 80, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Barbara was born in Chicago on September 28, 1944, a daughter of James Ivan and Margaret (Foster) Dillon.
Barbara lived life to the absolute fullest and loved spending time with her friends and family! Barbara touched the lives of many friends, as she lived throughout Southern Illinois. Barbara was passionate about life, especially Cardinal baseball, making a paycheck, golfing, puzzles, and shopping at Helen Honey's and Wal-Mart. Barbara was very active in Special Olympics and earned many many medals! Barbara's legacy of living life to the fullest will live on forever. She lived like she was never dying!
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Roberta Jean Dillon, in June, 2024.
A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Services that will celebrate Barbara's life will follow at 2:00 PM. Barbara would like everyone to wear red or St. Louis Cardinals shirts to her services.
Barbara loved to surround herself with gifts, but in lieu of flowers, she would love donations to be given to the Special Olympics. Envelopes will be available and accepted at the services or by mailing to: Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S. 13th Street; PO Box 429; Herrin, IL 62948.
