Aida Gail Trainor, age 89, of Du Quoin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
She was born Monday, October 28, 1935 in Du Quoin, a daughter of Benjamin Stowers and Laura Mae (Dasher) Ross.
Aida passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. As a skilled seamstress at Bridal Originals, she brought beauty and joy to countless brides-to-be. Her attention to detail and creative touch made every garment special. She also dedicated herself to caring for others, working as a caregiver at Gold Plate, where she provided compassionate support to those in need.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church of Tamaroa. Her involvement in the church community brought her great joy, and she will be deeply missed by her fellow congregants. Her love for God was evident in her compassionate spirit, generous heart, and selfless service to others.
She is survived by her daughter- Julie Trainor; grandchildren- Jason Childers of Du Quoin, Cassandra Halstead of Melbourne, Florida, Eli Halstead of Du Quoin; one sister- Sherrie Heine of Pinckneyville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law- Harold and Dotti Trainor of Tennessee; nephew- Kevin Scott Patton of West Frankfort; and special friends including Sharon Crowe, Sue Rice, and her Pastor Joseph Crowe.
She is preceded in death by parents, her son- Jule Trainor, brother- William Stowers, and a sister- Lina Patton.
Her love, guidance, and support will be deeply missed.
